Dog Bite Claims
Dog bite injuries can be very nasty and whilst most dogs pose no problem at all, we have all read in the press about horrific dog attacks causing terrible injuries.
If you have been the victim of this type of injury, then you could be entitled to compensation. I have acted in such claims so can help you claim the compensation you deserve.
Reporting a dog bite injury
If you are bitten by a dog you will find yourself relying on the provisions of the Animals Act 1971. Under this act the keeper of the dog that bites you is liable if:
- The dog was likely to bite you unless it was restrained ; and
- The likelihood of the animal biting you was due to characteristics of the dog which are not normal (at all or except at particular times or in particular circumstances); and
- Those characteristics were known to the dog's keeper.
All three things must be proven.
The legal process
Claiming compensation for a dog bite injury is not straightforward. Apart from establishing liability there are other factors to take into account (such as whether there is any insurance cover in place to pay).
If you have been injured as a result of a dog bite you could be able to claim compensation for your injury and all associated financial losses including loss of earnings, private medical treatment, care provided by friends or relatives.
Operating on a "No win - No Fee" basis, my extensive expertise enables you to recover the compensation to which you are entitled.
