How we can help

The Clough & Willis Solicitors approach is to find the quickest possible way to resolve such claims our clients - focusing on aiming for resolutions that don’t necessarily involve expensive court proceedings.

Mediation and Joint Settlement Meetings are possible avenues that may achieve a better outcome for our clients, and we will explore these options upon hearing the details of your potential case.

We ensure we work closely with all our clients throughout the claims process, providing frequent updates so they always know where the case is up to and what is required of them at different stages.

Working for you on a no win, no fee basis, we will start by discussing the details of your case using all the relevant information about your former solicitors before assessing the strength of your compensation claim.

About solicitor negligence

Most lawyers have high professional standards. However, sometimes, mistakes or errors of judgment can occur that can prove to be incredibly costly and stress-inducing for the client.

If this has happened to you, we aim to restore your trust in lawyers and recover any financial losses suffered by claiming back all the money you may have lost due to the negligence of a solicitor.

You may have used a solicitor when you purchased your house, or in a property transaction, making a will or dealing with an estate. No matter what area of the law this was relating to, we are on hand to help.

Property/Conveyancing

You may have a claim if you have bought property or land and you can answer ‘yes’ to any of the following questions:

  • Has your solicitor missed any financial interests on the land / property?
  • Has your solicitor missed anything on the searches i.e. coal, planning, water?
  • Has your solicitor missed or misunderstood restrictions on how you can use the property / land? Or have they just not told you about them?
  • Has your solicitor made a mistake as to the extent of the land you have bought (eg. are the boundaries closer than you were told)?

Private Client/Probate/Wills

It is likely you will be able to pursue a claim if you can answer ‘yes’ to any of the following questions:

  • Has your solicitor drafted a will wrongly so that it does not dispose of an entire estate as was wanted?
  • Has your solicitor distributed an estate incorrectly, meaning that the beneficiaries do not get what they were entitled to?
  • Has your solicitor prepared a Lasting Power of Attorney poorly, resulting in it not being able to be used as intended?

Personal Injury/Compensation Claims

You may have a claim if you can answer "Yes” to any of these questions:

  • Have you lost a claim through the fault of your solicitor?
  • Did you receive faulty advice?
  • Did your solicitor fail to get enough evidence to prove your claim?
  • Was your claim under settled? Did you fail to get as much compensation as you should have? Were some heads of claim not included or just undervalued?
  • Did your solicitor miss a limitation date?

Divorce/Matrimonial Matters

You may have a claim if you can answer "Yes” to any of these questions:

  • Did you receive less of your spouse's pension than you were entitled to? Was the pension fund properly valued?
  • Were all assets disclosed? Did you reach a financial settlement and it has now become apparent that not all assets were disclosed to you?
  • Failure to protect assets  Did your spouse dispose of assets and no steps were taken to prevent this?

I will work closely with you throughout the claim process, making sure you always have the information you need. Working for you on a no win no fee basis, we will discuss the details of your case using all the relevant information about your former solicitors before assessing the strength of your compensation claim.
