Clough & Willis Gets Peddling & Quizzical for Charity!

Clough & Willis - the Bury based law firm - has embraced the notion of charity once again this week after staging two fundraisers in as many days raising over £1,560.00 for Comic Relief in the process.

On Wednesday 13th March, staff at the firm, which is based on Manchester Road, decided to cycle the distance from Bury to Bury (St Edmunds) on two exercise bikes in reception. The total distance was 208 miles and the team made it in an impressive eight hours. Total sponsorship came to £1,115.00. Thankfully, the team's morale and energy levels were kept high due to a constant supply of treats from a cake sale that had been organised to raise some extra pounds!

The fun didn't stop there as the next day the firm's annual quiz took place at Elton Vale Sports Club. The event was attended by 35 teams from across a whole variety of sectors including; financial institutions, accountants, property companies and media organisations. For over fifteen years, Clough & Willis - which deals with both professional and corporate clients across the North West - has been hosting the quiz as a thank you to its clients and peers. This year, it also staged a collection and £445.00 was raised.

Shefali Talukdar - managing partner at Clough & Willis - said; "As a business, we're keen to give something back and so we're always on the look for new ways to raise money. The bike ride was a real challenge but the whole team got behind it and everyone had a go, which was fantastic to see. We also couldn't be happier with how the quiz went. Our task now is to top this week!”

The winning team at the quiz was Gorton Chartered Accounts who were closely followed by Moscrops Insurance Brokers in second place.
