The National Living Wage

The National Living Wage comes into effect on 1st April 2016 and workers aged 25 and over will be entitled to receive a minimum of £7.20 per hour.

Rates

The new minimum wages from 1st April 2016 will be:

Aged 25+ = £7.20 per hour
Aged 21 – 25 = £6.70 per hour
Aged 18 – 21 = £5.30 per hour
Aged under 18 = £3.87 per hour
Apprentices = £3.30 per hour

Important Note

Employers must ensure that employees’ pay is not reduced below these new rates by any salary sacrifice arrangements.
