Shahid Azam Named as New Bury Chamber of Commerce President

Shahid Azam of Clough and Willis Solicitors has taken over as President of Bury Local Chamber Council.
Shahid joined Clough and Willis Solicitors in 2005 and advises on all aspects of Commercial and Corporate law. Shahid succeeds Guy Freeman of Freeman Property Solutions, who is stepping down after a two year term.
Shahid said: "I have been involved with the Chamber for a while now and I have seen the Bury Local Chamber Council grow. Guy came to the end of his term as President and someone was required who had previous experience of the Chamber but also a passion for moving it forward."
Nigel McFarlane, Local Manager for Bury said: "Guy has been an outstanding President for the Chamber in Bury. His work with local members and our public sector partners has seen the Chamber's stature grow both in the town and around Greater Manchester. His desire to see the Chamber thrive in one of the region's most attractive and exciting boroughs has paid many long-term dividends, and we hope he will continue to be a significant force with the local Chamber."
Shahid will now take a seat on the Board of Greater Manchester Chamber as a voice for the businesses of Bury and any issues relating to the town. Nigel commented:

He is a popular and respected member of the business community both in Bury and across Greater Manchester, and I know that his enthusiasm will take the Chamber to new heights.
