Bury based Clough & Willis, one of the North West 's leading mid-sized legal firms, has further strengthened its future with a number of appointments across the firm. Two key members of staff have been awarded full time contracts following the completion of their extensive two year training contracts and a new trainee solicitor has also joined the practice's growing Property Division.
Following completion of the Legal Practice Course at Chester College of Law - the vocational stage for those wanting to become a solicitor in England and Wales - Laura McGuckin, 25, and Rebecca Green, 24, have spent the last two years on a rigorous training contract working closely with the partners at Clough & Willis.
Laura, who originally studied for her Bachelor of Law Degree at Queens University in Belfast, received a Commendation and is now working in the diverse, yet challenging, Civil Litigation Department alongside Tim Gray - one of the firm's partners. She will now focus on building her own caseload of work.
Whilst Rebecca, who is a graduate from Keele University , also received a Commendation and she is now specialising in will drafting, estate administration and advising on lasting powers of attorney within the Private Client team. Both have worked at Clough & Willis for just over two years.
Shefali Talukdar, managing partner of Clough & Willis, commented; "Despite the tough conditions, the last few months has been a really exciting time for the practice and much of that is due to the talented people we have on the team. Laura and Rebecca's recent success is testament to this and we are very proud of their achievements. Both are talented solicitors and I'm sure they will continue to grow into real experts in their respective fields over the next few years."
In addition to this great news, Clough & Willis has also just appointed Seb Wright as a trainee solicitor in its Property Division. Seb, 27, a graduate of the University of Leeds and Manchester Metropolitan University is currently training in all aspects of residential conveyancing.
He said of his new position; "I'm looking forward to the challenge of my new role immensely. Clough & Willis is a forward thinking and innovative organisation with some experienced partners and solicitors who I know will be a source of great inspiration and knowledge as my career continues to develop."
