February 2010
It may sound obvious but it is vital for employers from all industries and of all sizes to have in place comprehensive contracts of employment and accompanying policies and procedures. However, many don't which can lead to a whole host of problems as well as the increased possibility of employment tribunals being brought. So, in the latest in the series of its Employers Forum events, Clough and Willis – one of the North West 's leading mid-sized legal firms - is staging a seminar on Thursday 11 th February 2010 in Bury to discuss why company owners and directors need to look at their own situations and what the potential problems are if they don't.
The session will be led by Andrew Moore – one of Clough & Willis's employment law specialists – who will discuss the minimum requirements of the law in relation to contracts of employment. He will also provide guidance on common issues that arise in terms of drafting of contracts and policies and procedures. Finally, attendees will be taken through scenarios where good drafting can assist in the effective management of business.
Andrew has been working as an employment law specialist since 2000 and has conducted over 100 hearings appearing in many Employment Tribunals across England , Scotland and Wales . He has acted on behalf of claimants and businesses from the very small to the large national organisations.
As well as conducting employment litigation, he has offered employment law advice for many firms on all aspects of employment law and human resource management from drafting policies and procedures to complex transfer of undertakings matters.
This new series of events is designed to support and complement Employer's Advantage – Clough & Willis's full HR service that has been developed specifically to guide and support business owners through the management of their people, allowing them to remain focused on growing and developing their organisations.
