Bury based Clough & Willis, one of the North West's leading mid-sized legal firms, has further cemented the future of its next generation of lawyers following the passing of the prestigious Central Law Training (CLT) programme by two members of staff.
CLT is the leading provider of high quality post qualification CPD training for the legal profession and is one of the most respected schemes in the UK. Following an 18 month long distance course with the University of the West of England, Joanne Singleton has become a specialist paralegal practitioner in the Debt Recovery Department. She has also become a member of the Society of Specialist Paralegals (SSP). The course has increased Joanne’s knowledge of the court process and its methods which has helped her to gain a better understanding of various client issues.
Whilst Donna-Marie Openshaw has become a specialist paralegal practitioner in the Wills, Probate and Administration team she too studied via the University of the West of England and has become a member of SSP. Her successful completion of the course has enabled her to better assist key partners and fee earners with their day to day client work through the drafting of wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate accounts and oaths.
Joanne commented; ‘This achievement is a massive confidence boost and this new knowledge and experience will provide the building blocks for the next stage of my career. I am now even better placed to try and get the right result for my clients every time.’
Shefali Talukdar, managing partner of Clough & Willis, commented; ‘As a firm, we firmly believe in nurturing and developing talent from within so the successes of both Joanne and Donna-Marie are real testaments to this philosophy. Clough & Willis' reputation is built upon the talents and abilities of its people so we are looking forward to seeing both of their careers progress over the next few years.’
