We have a wealth of experience advising on equal opportunities and discrimination cases. We can help you bring your case to an employment tribunal, where we can apply our specialist knowledge in order to resolve your claim successfully. This includes discrimination because of race, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability, marital status, pregnancy, maternity leave and religious belief.

Below is some information which we hope you find useful.

Can I Claim For Discrimination at Work?

Equal opportunities law means that a workplace should ensuring equality for every employee. Since the Equality Act in October 2010, employees now have stronger protection against discrimination in the workplace. It is your employer's responsibility to ensure that this requirement is honoured and not doing so could result in successful discrimination claim being made.

It is unacceptable to be discriminated against because of your:

  • Sex
  • Race
  • Age
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Religion
  • Pregnancy and maternity leave
  • Gender reassignment
  • Disability
  • Marital status

If you are unsure whether you are eligible to make a discrimination claim, I or my colleague will assess your case and identify the next course of action. We can provide guidance on contracts, Employment Tribunals and employment policies to help maximise the strength of your claim.
