Shefali Talukdar

Managing Partner & Residential Property Solicitor


Shefali became a Partner in Clough and Willis in 1997 and became Managing Partner in 2003.  She also specialises in residential property law and has built a well respected property conveyancing team.

As Managing Partner Shefali is responsible for leading and implementing the firm's strategy, and overall management of the business including marketing, staffing and infrastructure. 

Her vast experience and management skills have helped guide the firm to where it is today and will help her to build on the firm's strengths to take the company forward.

Shefali is extremely active within the local legal community. A past president of the Bury and District Law Society, she also became the first female president of the Association of North West Law Societies in 2006. She is past Chairman of Governors at Bury Grammar School and a Governor at Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School.   She is heavily involved with local organisations, such as the Greater Manchester Chamber and sits on the Bury Hospice Special Events Committee - which has raised over £70,000.

Shefali was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) to the Northern Circuit in June 2015. 

At Home

Shefali is married and shares her love of music with her daughter, regularly going to a wide selection of concerts. She also enjoys swimming and reading.

Shefali graduated from Hull University in 1985 and continued her education at Chester College of Law. She qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and joined Clough & Willis as an assistant solicitor in 1991.
