Find out what our clients have to say about Lee here.
Lee became a partner in 2001 and heads up the Family Law team.
He is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in the financial side of divorce and children disputes. He was a founding member of the Family Law Panel in 2005 and has practised solely in Family Law for over fifteen years.
Lee prides himself on being down to earth and approachable. He also provides support and empathy for his clients. However, he is particularly known for his vigour in pursuing his clients' rights, especially when dealing with financial and parental issues.
He acts for a cross section of people including employees, company directors and the self employed. He often acts for the owners of businesses and companies of all sizes throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire.
Lee has a particular expertise in acting for the owners of large businesses and is mindful of the importance of realistic valuations of business/shareholding and problems associated with illiquidity. Lee has expertise in structuring settlements to protect the financial integrity of any business or company.
Lee advises on the potential opportunities and pitfalls the Internet brings in family disputes and delights in unearthing hidden assets as well as preservation of family assets against disposal. He is able to advise people regarding the relevance of family discretionary trust instruments and on reviewing maintenance already being paid. This is in itself a developing area of law and requires particular expertise.
During his career he has often represented or acted against members of the armed forces, police and fire service. His experience is particularly relevant where there are significant pension entitlements; Lee is particularly aware that financial information provided by the pension trustees maybe under-valuing the schemes and is robust in securing proper valuations.
Most of his clients are recommended to him by existing clients or even those against whom he has previously acted.
At Home
Married with two young children, Lee enjoys cars and DIY projects.
Lee read law in London and considered playing pool at a national level. He took his Law Society finals at York and trained with Clough & Willis, qualifying in 1997.
