Shahid joined Clough & Willis solicitors in 2005 became an Associate on the 1st April 2010. Shahid advises on all aspects of non-contentious Commercial and Corporate law.
At work
As a corporate and commercial solicitor Shahid acts for companies across the UK and specifically across the North West including Lancashire , Cheshire , and Greater Manchester. He deals with a wide variety of work relating to companies and businesses which include buying and selling of companies, mergers, management buyouts, corporate finance solutions.
Shahid drafts and/or reviews general and bespoke commercial agreements and trading terms and conditions of business.
Shahid advises directors and shareholders on company restructuring, all types of business and joint ventures, shareholders agreements, purchase of own shares by a company, and purchasing assets from administrators. He has expertise in partnership agreements and dissolving of partnerships and advises on franchises and business start-ups.
Shahid deals with all types of businesses from start- ups, sole traders, partnerships, small medium enterprises (SME's) owner managed businesses (OMB's) and private Limited Companies and franchises.
Shahid supports business owners and directors in their goals, by offering a bespoke service tailored to achieve the objectives in hand. He gives common sense business advice with a personal touch.
Shahid works across all sectors and has particular experience in the manufacturing, retail, industrial, food and drink, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Professional Services and Waste Management/ Recycling Sectors. He has also advised banks on particular deals.
Shahid is President of Bury Local Chamber Council and is also on the Board of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. He has played a huge role in working with businesses across Bury and Greater Manchester to ensure they have a voice in the business community and in the borough of Bury. He has recently been involved in establishing an “everyone welcome” networking event in Bury for all businesses (both chamber members and non chamber members), to help support local business people meet new contacts and explore opportunities to work together and introduce work to each other.
Shahid obtained his Law Degree at De Montfort University where he also obtained his Legal Practice Course receiving a commendation.
At home
Outside work Shahid enjoys playing five-a-side football and going to the gym.
