Marie joined Clough & Willis in 1998 and became a Partner in 2008. Marie has over 20 years experience advising on all issues of family law. She was the first solicitor in Bury to achieve accreditation status with Resolution who are a national organisation committed to resolving family issues in a constructive, non-confrontational way.
At Work
Marie specialises in resolving financial issues following divorce of high net worth individuals and has represented clients with substantial assets and previous clients have featured on the “Rich List”. She can also advise on all areas of Family Law including Separation Agreements, Divorce proceedings, both Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements, property disputes involving cohabitees, Civil Partnerships, variation of maintenance Orders by way of increase or reduction and financial support for children .
Marie also has extensive experience advising on disputes regarding children, to include Residence and Contact Orders. She has a particular interest and experience of either making or opposing applications for leave to remove a child permanently from the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom and relocation cases within England and Wales.
Marie can provide support and empathy whilst maintaining a firm approach. She demonstrates exceptional negotiating skills which are reflected in the majority of her cases reaching a settlement. This provides the added benefit of keeping your legal costs to a minimum.
Marie has a very down to earth approach and most of her clients are recommended to her from clients she has represented previously.
At Home
Marie is married to Philip and enjoys travelling, keeping fit, and walking, particularly in the Lake District .
