Andrew has been working as an Employment law Specialist since 2000 and joined Clough & Willis in April 2006. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Management specialising in Human Resources and a Masters degree in Employment Law.

Andrew advises all types of companies on business employment law issues, from SMEs with a small number of employees to large PLCs employing thousands of staff. He has helped companies from all sectors of industry including:

Employment Tribunals

Andrew's work includes conducting employment tribunal cases on behalf of clients. Andrew takes the client through the whole process from responding to the claim form (form ET1)to conducting the case at the hearing. He acknowledges the need for consistency in conducting the matter and ensuring that the best is done for the client. Claims can often be lengthy, complicated and stressful for clients. Andrew provides a tailored service to take the stress out of the case as much as possible for the client.

Andrew has conducted over 150 hearings appearing in Tribunals across the UK .

His work covers all aspects of employment law from relatively uncomplicated wages claims to extremely complicated TUPE and discrimination cases lasting a number of days at the Tribunal.

Advice and Guidance

Andrew also provides advice and guidance to employers prior to litigation. Andrew offers a commercial and pragmatic approach to resolving a company's employee and other HR issues. With his experience at the Employment Tribunal he can ensure that your company is placed in the best position possible should the matter turn litigious.

Andrew works proactively alongside HR Directors, Departmental Managers, Business Owners and Company Directors to help them achieve their goals in a personal and commercially viable way. He understands that all businesses have different employee issues and tailors the service depending on the business requirements, whether its more complex employment law support for HR Directors and senior HR staff, or whether it is guidance on making sure HR systems and processes are in place and compliant for smaller businesses, guiding a employers through disciplinary and grievance procedures and even sitting in to ensure the correct processes are followed, dealing with sickness and absence to help protect the companies best interests.

Andrew works as part of the commercial team at Clough & Willis, advising the commercial and corporate team and clients on employee issues in relation to restructuring and business sales and purchases, such as redundancy, relocation, benefits, compromise agreements, employment contracts and associated documentation.

Andrew conducts bi-monthly forums with Managing Directors and HR professionals at which he provides up dates and practical guidance on Employment Law matters. The forums are an opportunity to tap into Andrew's extensive knowledge of Employment Law in an informal relaxed atmosphere and share experiences with others from industry.

Andrew regularly comments and provides information and updates for business publications and presents at seminars and workshops on employment law issues.

At Home

Andrew has many sporting interests and can often be found at Knowsley Road supporting St. Helens Rugby League Club.
