



Tim Gray, Partner at Clough & Willis comments in the Daily Telegraph on the compensation awards for unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination in relation to the high profile sacking of Sharon Shoesmith, Director of Children's Services at Haringey Council. Sharon Shoesmith was sacked without compensation from her £130,000 a year job last December following the death of "Baby P". It is understood that Haringey Council Social Workers (who Mrs Shoesmith managed) saw Baby Peter Connelly 60 times in the final 8 months of his life. Mrs Shoesmith has lodged a breach of contract case in the High Court, she has also filed for unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination claims at Watford employment tribunal.
