Since Home Information Packs (HIPs) were introduced in 2008, there has been much confusion amongst the general public. There have been several amendments to both the required content and the deadlines by which they were to be implemented. There have also been a number of cases where sellers have had Home Information Packs (HIPs) produced for their properties only to find that they are not fully compliant and legal when a potential buyer has instructed their solicitor.

Free Clinics for Property Law

As part of the free clinics offered at Clough & Willis, on Monday afternoons between 2pm and 5pm the Property Team will now be available to answer any queries you may have regarding HIPs and selling your property.

Clough & Wills have offered free clinics for a number of years, offering the help and advice of solicitors in the Employment Law, Personal Injury and Private Client (Wills & Estates) Departments. The clinics provide a free initial meeting with a specialist advisor to help identify legal issues you may require professional assistance with.

Purchasing a Home Information Pack (HIP)

Clough & Willis now offer HIPs at a cost of £375 including VAT.

By purchasing your HIP from Clough & Willis, you can be sure that a solicitor will be involved in putting the HIP together and will therefore ensure full compliance with the current regulations. It also means you can use your HIP with any estate agent you choose to market your property, or to market your property yourself if you are not planning on using an agent.
