Clough & Willis Confirms Forever Manchester as its Charity of the Year

We are pleased to announce that Forever Manchester is to be our first official Charity of the Year. We will be announcing - and then staging - a series of fundraising events and initiatives throughout 2012.

The decision to support Forever Manchester - the community foundation for Greater Manchester - was based on the charity's commitment to providing wide ranging support to small community groups across the region. Its focus is on helping bringing people together and making them feel better about where they live. This ethos - and the grassroots work it delivers everyday - impressed us. The firm is also the first Bury business to announce such a high profile commitment to the organisation.

A number of projects are already set to happen including a fundraiser at the annual Clough & Willis quiz, various sporting challenges by employees of the firm, as well as community and corporate focussed events.

There are 57 community foundations across the UK and Forever Manchester is the community foundation that represents Greater Manchester and it supports all ten boroughs: Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. Forever Manchester has strong connections within each local community and so ensures donations are accurately targeted to achieve the biggest impact. The money Clough & Willis raise will be distributed to grass root organisations in Bury.

As a business we try to ensure that we play our part in the communities we operate in. Fundraising and corporate social responsibility have become central to the firm so for our Charity of the Year, we wanted to work with an organisation that we knew made a difference.

Forever Manchester does an amazing job across Greater Manchester and right here in our hometown of Bury so it's going to be exciting to see how the money we raise will help local people.
